PUBLIC TRANSPORT

BUSES

There are a number of bus services to and from New Romney that operate on a daily timetable.

Stagecoach buses link the town to Dover, Folkestone, Hythe, Lydd, Rye, Ore, Hastings, Hamstreet and Ashford on the following three routes:

BUS NUMBER 12 (Folkestone, Hythe, New Romney, Lydd)
Runs every hour (4 hours on Sundays and Bank Holidays) between 0645 and 2319.

BUS NUMBER 711 (Dover, Folkestone, Hythe, New Romney, Lydd, Rye, Ore, Hastings)
Runs every hour (2 hours on Sundays and Bank Holidays) between 0615 and 2140 (0735 and 2031 Sundays).

ROMNEY, HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY


The Romeny, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, famous for being the world's smallest public railway, runs a regular service between the towns from April to September, with a limited service also operating the rest of the year.

Adult ticket prices (return) to/from:

Hythe: £9.40
Dungeness: £7.10

Children (3-15) travel half fare

Romney Rover
For great value buy a Romney Rover, the all stations all day ticket, plus free admission to the Toy & Model exhibition at New Romney:

Adult: £12.00 Children: £6.00

Family Rover
The Family Rover for 2 Adults and 2 Children offers the same benefits and cost just £34.00.

FROM LONDON

Traveling down from London on the M20, through Maidstone to Ashford, you should leave at Junction 10 to follow the A2070, until you reach the A259 into New Romney.

FROM THE SOUTH COAST

Traveling along the South Coast, take the A27 until you meet the A259. Then follow this along until to you reach New Romney.

FROM MARGATE/CANTERBURY

If you are coming from Margate or Canterbury, take the A28 to Ashford, continue through the town and then onto the A2070. This will meet up with the A259 to New Romney.
