NEW
ROMNEY NEWS
Brownies and Guides in New Romney, Greatstone and Lydd are
to run their own radio station from 9pm on Friday 18th February
2005 to 7pm on Sunday 20th February 2005 to promote Girlguiding
across Romney Marsh.
The radio station will also be raising funds for
the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, Littlestone branch.
Think FM will broadcast programmes, interviews and features
about the guiding movement to listeners on the Romney Marsh,
as part of the annual international Thinking Day celebrations.
This is when the global Guiding community pauses to think
about the birthdays of their founders, Lord and Lady Baden
Powell, and the beliefs, cultures and customs of their contemporaries
living in countries around the world.
The girls will be helped by a team of radio professionals,
including BBC Radio Kent presenter Dominic King, who is
also the Ambassador of the Lydd and New Romney District
of Girlguiding UK.
Local businesses are being asked to assist with the running
costs of the radio station. Any profit from the radio station
will go to the RNLI.
You will be able to listen to the radio station on 87.7
FM, and also online at the Think FM website, www.thinkfm.co.uk.
